With the NBA and NHL playoffs nearing their conclusion (Go Avs) we’re nearing the summer sports doldrums before we turn the corner on the start of the 2022 college football season. But each day brings us closer to kickoff and more and more detail about the upcoming season will continue to be released.
The Buffs week two contest down I-25 at Air Force will take placeat 1:30 p.m. in a nationally televised game on CBS, CU’s first appearance on the network since defeating Oregon on New Year’s Day in the 1996 Cotton Bowl. Colorado is 4-1 on CBS, including two iconic wins in the 1989 season over Illinois and Nebraska and in ’90 over Oklahoma.

The Buffaloes haven’t played at Air Force since 1974, with Colorado coming home with a 28-27 win. The Buffs lead the overall series by a 12-5 margin.
Game times for CU’s Sept. 2 opener at home against TCU, the road game at Minnesota in week three and a Friday night away affair at Southern California on Nov. 11 will be released Thursday morning in a joint announcement by FOX and ESPN.
