Colorado scores touchdown, loses 35-13

Moral victories, despite my protests, do not show up on the scoreboard

The Colorado Buffaloes close out September with three more losses than they started it with. They are winless against FBS opponents and have scored a combined 17 points against them. Other than that, they’re doing great!

Today, the Arizona State Sun Devils are the latest team to beat the Buffs, to the tune of 35-13. Arizona State and Jayden Daniels had their way with CU’s defense. He was laser accurate, finding big targets Curtis Hodges and Johnny Wilson consistently for big gains down the sideline. Rachaad White found some room receiving and found some tough yards running. On defense for the Buffs, Terrance Lang had a great game for the Buffs, minus the penalties. He is turning into a fantastic pass rusher off the edge. Jalen Sami had a nice game in the middle, and Nate Landman was ever-present as always. However, the secondary struggled with the physicality of the Sun Devil skill position players.

On offense, there were fits and starts. That’s better than the pure fits that we’ve seen for the past two games. For the first time since the 1st quarter against Texas A&M, the Buffaloes scored a touchdown! The run from Alex Fontenot gave the Buffs six points right after the second half started, and the Buffs were briefly threatening ASU with the score being 13-10. However, ASU quickly scored on their next few drives and the game was out of reach.

Once again, the Buffs finish with less than 100 passing yards. The offense needs to be figured out. Good night.
