After leading the Colorado Buffaloes to a 5-7 record in his first and ONLY season, Mel Tucker is leaving the Black and Gold for Michigan State green. The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman first reported news of Tucker’s departure late Tuesday night via twitter.

The news comes just four days after Tucker reaffirmed his commitment to Colorado via twitter, in response to a Detroit Free Press report that Michigan State was expected to interview him for their head coach vacancy. “While I am flattered to be considered for the HC job @MSU_football, I am committed to @CUBuffsFootball for #TheBuild of our program, its great athletes, coaches & supporters,” Tucker tweeted.
