Colorado Buffaloes linebacker Nate Landman suffered a leg injury in the second quarter vs. Utah on Saturday.
Landman was helped off the field by CU’s training staff after a non-contact incident and appeared to be in serious pain. The 6-foot-3, 235-pound senior all-conference star linebacker was back on the sidelines after halftime with a walking boot on his right foot and resting on a knee scooter.
The national player of the week vs. San Diego State was also named a semifinalist for the Butkus Award earlier this season. Landman came into the Buffs’ regular season finale with 47 tackles (2nd, Pac-12), four sacks and a fumble recovery.
Jonathan Van Diest replaced Landman for CU in the second half. The sophomore from Louisville, Colo. has eight tackles in a backup role this season. No. 21 Colorado leads Utah, 14-10 at halftime of the Rumble in the Rockies.
