Early in his career, Hasaan Hypolite showed plenty of promise. The safety from Houston was a huge hitter who loved playing physically and attacking the ball. This showed up in special teams play and seemed to be a perfect fit for new Colorado Football head coach Mel Tucker.
Unfortunately, we will never see that combination bear fruit. Due to a violation of team rules, Hypolite is no longer on the team. While the dreaded “team rules” could mean almost anything, it’s good to know that Hypolite didn’t do anything that required larger punishment or police involvement.
Hasaan’s departure is a blow to an already thin safety depth chart. After starters Nick Fisher and Evan Worthington departed this offseason, the safety position was completely up for grabs. Hypolite was a name frequently mentioned in the starting position, along with Derrion Rakestraw, recent CB convert Trey Udoffia, and incoming freshman Mark Perry.
Good luck at your next destination, Hasaan.
