Four Star Texas DB Flips from Purdue to Colorado

Colorado Football has some juice, y’all

NCAA Football: Air Force at Colorado Russell Lansford-USA TODAY Sports

Do not bet against Mel Tucker and Darrin Chiaverini on the recruiting trail. We’ve seen it for the last four years that Coach Chiv will get you players in Texas. Mel Tucker will get you talented defensive backs. And Keith Miller, a current WR commit, is proving to be a great peer to peer recruiter as well. Enter Christian Gonzalez.

Gonzalez is another huge recruit from the Dallas metroplex. The four-star DB plays for the The Colony High School (from The Colony, Texas), alongside WR Keith Miller and targets TE Mikey Henderson and RB Myles Price. As you can tell, it’s a talented team. Gonzalez committed to Purdue in late summer, but he flipped to CU after officially visiting the week of the Stanford game (that game will pay huge dividends for a while). He had offers from just about everybody, including Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Arizona State, Miami, Utah, etc. He’s a beast.

Christian Gonzalez is just so damn smooth on the football field. He can play offense or defense, and he just seems to move easier than everyone on the field. He changes directions on a dime, he has effortless speed, and he has great open field vision, on offense and defense. He diagnoses plays on a dime and ruins backs and receivers in the backfield. As a safety, he is everything you want and he will play early alongside Mark Perry.

Welcome, Christian!
