Alabama, Clemson and Georgia remained on top in the latest AP Top 25 poll released Sunday. There were no real surprises after week two’s college football action.
The Colorado Buffaloes received 25 votes in the poll, but didn’t crack the rankings after a 33-28 upset over Nebraska in Lincoln on Saturday. The Buffs are effectively ranked No. 31. Saturday’s victory was CU’s first over a ‘Power 5’ opponent outside of the Pac-12 in Mike MacIntyre’s tenure.
No. 9 Stanford jumped No. 10 Washington (1-1) as the highest-ranked team in the Pac-12 Conference after a statement win over No. 22 USC. The Huskies lost their neutral site season-opener to No. 7 Auburn in Atlanta. A total of five Pac-12 teams were featured, with Oregon coming in at No. 20 and Arizona State at No. 23.
