The Colorado Buffaloes announced the captains for the 2016 football season on Tuesday afternoon. The team met that morning to elect the captains who they felt could best lead the team, ending up naming two seniors and three juniors. Quarterback Sefo Liufau, linebacker Kenneth Olugbode, H-back George Frazier, offensive tackle Jeromy Irwin and running back Phillip Lindsay were the five chosen.
Liufau has now become just the second Buffalo, after quarterback Pat Carney in the early 1890's, to serve as a captain for three seasons. Lindsay and Olugbode also served as captains last year.
