Tim Lynott named to USA Today Freshman All-American Team

A national honor for CU’s offensive lineman.

NCAA Football: Washington State at Colorado Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Colorado Buffaloes offensive lineman Tim Lynott was named to USA Today’s Freshman All-American team, earning the honor after a solid season in Boulder. He was the highest recruited player in the state of Colorado in 2015 and decided to stay home over a number of top-rated schools.

Lynott became the 13th freshman in CU’s history to start the entire season and was part of two games with quarterbacks who threw for 300 yards and rushing for 100 yards (Steven Montez vs. Oregon, Sefo Liufau vs. Washington State). Colorado’s offense rushed for 200+ yards in a game for the first time since 2002 with Lynott playing a majority of snaps.

The list of 25 players includes four other players from the Pac-12 conference, the most of any conference. Here’s the entire All-American team courtesy of USA Today.
