Giving thanks for the Year of the Buffalo

This year we have a lot to be thankful for.

NCAA Football: Washington State at Colorado Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

On the football field, Colorado has enjoyed more success than they have in over 15 years. On the basketball court, Colorado has continued the golden age of Buffs basketball, as they reached yet another March Madness and may have their best team ever this season. Elsewhere, cross country and track continue to be elite programs and have produced so much Olympic success.

To celebrate all that’s been great for CU in this year, here’s a list of various things we’re thankful for on this Thanksgiving.

  • Sefo Liufau finally getting what he deserves after fighting so hard for so long.
  • Davis Webb for choosing Cal over Colorado.
  • Steven Montez for his brilliance against Oregon.
  • The Heavens for creating the chip on Phillip Lindsay’s shoulder.
  • The receiving corps (Devin Ross, Shay Fields, Bryce Bobo) stepping up to replace Nelson Spruce.
  • Pepsi for being a Jim Leavitt man.
  • Chidobe Awuzie walking among mere morals.
  • Tedric Thompson and Ahkello Witherspoon taking the next step and becoming dominant players.
  • Derek McCartney for leading the lead from the sideline and being the incredible person he is.
  • Jimmie Gilbert for supplying the pass rush and created all kinds of havoc.
  • Josh Tupou for creating blackholes in the trenches in his comeback season.
  • Mason Crosby for making kicking look easy all those years.
  • Jenny Simpson and Emma Coburn making Colorado proud in the Olympics.
  • Tad Boyle for having enough basketball success to consider a tight losses to Connecticut and Notre Dame a disappointment.
  • Josh Scott for giving so much to the program.
  • Derrick White for transferring here.
  • Tory Miller for banking in a three.
  • Tory Miller for being Tory Miller.
  • Bill Grier for recruiting Evan Battey.
  • Evan Battey for being Evan Battey.
  • The future for having Tory Miller and Evan Battey play together.
  • Spencer Dinwiddie for calling us out on having some young staff members.
  • Josh Scott and Chauncey Billups for showing how an in-state star is treated, and for D’Shawn Schwartz for wanting to be that star.
  • JR Payne for being such a wonderful person, an inspirational coach and incredible recruiter.
  • Lastly, Ralphie Report editor Jon Woods for letting us publish things like this, among various other things.
What are you thankful for this year?
