Connor Wood leaving the Buffaloes program

Wood leaves an uneven legacy in Boulder but handled last season impeccably.

Doug Pensinger

Senior Buffaloes quarterback Connor Wood is leaving the program prior to his senior year. Wood will graduate in May and will likely move on past football to the next stage of his life. With Wood leaving that leaves only Sefo Liufau and Jordan Gehrke (Stevie Joe Dorman also left the program) for the spring with Cade Apsay coming in this summer. The Buffs will be extremely limited in spring ball unless Wood decides to take part in practice.

Wood will leave the program with 1,368 yards for 9 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He was a huge part of Colorado's success in the opening two wins but struggled once conference play begin and eventually gave way to freshman Sefo Liufau. Wood handled the demotion with class and continued to help Sefo and the offense as the season went on, never causing a distraction or disruption.

The former 5-star transfer from Texas seems to be a great kid and we wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors.
