Buffaloes Fall Camp Day Fifteen Roundup

Checking in with the interwebs to get the scoop on Colorado fall camp.

Day fifteen of the 2013 Colorado Buffaloes fall camp is in the book and now we have only one more day of open practices.

BuffStampede.com - Notes: Crabb staying healthy ($) - BuffStampede has some notes that include a few freshmen that will be counted on right away.

MacIntyre expects wide receiver Devin Ross and defensive back Chidobe Awuzie to contribute as true freshmen.

"There are some other [freshmen] that are on the fringe. …. But if they are not ready here in the next week or so we would redshirt those guys," he said. "Then we got some [freshmen] that we definitely think need another year to get bigger and stronger at their positions."

Brooks: Pistol Offense Could Benefit Buffs’ O-Line - CUBuffs.com - B.G. Brooks talks about the impact of the new offense on the o-line.

Asked about the pistol’s penchant for perhaps easing the burden on the big guys, Bernardi said, "It can, because instead of blocking somebody you’re reading somebody. You can get targeted a little better and go a little stronger. It’s a part of our offense, but not the whole thing. But in the big picture, yes (it can be beneficial for blockers)."

Harris also was in agreement about the formation’s friendliness to an O-lineman. "I could see that," he said, "especially with the misdirection and the confusion it can cause a defense. It slows them down from coming downhill so fast and makes them think a little more. You don’t just have to run over guys; if they don’t know what they’re doing then you can knock them down instead of doing it head-to-head."

MacIntyre Sees ‘Balanced’ Progress In Training Camp - CUBuffs.com - Official Athletics Web site of the University of Colorado - Josh Casey gets some quotes from Coach Mac on the progress he has seen throughout camp.

"I think it’s been pretty balanced," coach Mike MacIntyre said. "I think the defense has been playing well and I think the offense has been doing some good things, too. Of course there’s days when one is ahead of the other or one looks better than the other. Usually with offense the timing of it is usually why they’re not but the kids worked this summer so I thought it kept the timing pretty good on offense."

Football: CU Buffs' Connor Wood getting use to glove - Buffzone - Kyle Ringo has a couple of (super) short updates on Conner Wood and Daniel Munyer.

CU quarterback Connor Wood has been wearing a glove on his throwing hand through much of the past week. Coach Mike MacIntyre said he believes Wood is wearing the glove because the temperatures have increased and Wood uses the glove to fight perspiration and give himself a better grip on the ball. MacIntyre also joked the Wood might be trying to emulate New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

CU Buffs' Daniel Munyer on target for opener - Buffzone

Coach Mike MacIntyre said Munyer is getting closer to being fully cleared each day and his experience and diligence in watching practice should allow him to play against CSU with only a few practices during game week.
