Junior offensive lineman David Bakhtiari is the first Buffalo off the board in the 2013 NFL Draft. He was taken with the 12 pick in the 4th round (No. 109 overall) by the Green Bay Packers. Bakhtiari announced his decision to enter the draft with one year of eligibility remaining this spring instead of staying on with what would have been his third coaching staff at Colorado.
The tackle was signed in 2009 by Dan Hawkins’ staff, redshirted as a freshman then started 11 of 12 games at right tackle in what would be Hawkins’ final season (2010). He moved to left tackle for the 2011-12 seasons under Jon Embree and was a second-team All-Pac-12 Conference selection both years.
Green Bay is a great landing spot for the former Buffalo and we will be excited to watch his development in the NFL.
