Last year in Boulder the Buffs went into the locker room at halftime down three and riding a lot of momentum at Folsom Field. Then the Sun Devils came out and ran off 31 straight points to win going away. Arizona State is a team that is rapidly improving under Todd Graham with solid lines on both sides of the ball and playmakers that attack you from a number of different areas. Can the Buffs turn it around and get their first road win of 2013?

Colorado_mediumGet back to confident Connor (Part Deux)
Yep, this was on the list last week too. Did Wood get it done? We'll say done-ish. He looked leagues better than he did in Corvallis and made some great plays but he almost seemed a bit too amped up at times and made some questionable decisions that led to turnovers. Wood has hadn't anything near what we'd call a "good" game on the road (not that he's had that may games period) yet but he's going to have to have one today for the Buffs to have any chance to win.

Colorado_medium Don't let Jaelen Strong turn into Brandin Cooks
Brandin Cooks finished his game against the Buffs with 9 receptions for 168 and 2 touchdowns but it seemed like hevhad at least twice that. Cooks had more than enough room to work and the Buffaloes secondary had no plan to stop him. Jaelen Strong has had a fantastic season so far to date with 569 yards and 5 touchdowns. If Taylor Kelly and Strong can get in a rhythm Colorado could be in trouble. Let's see if the plan to shut him down is better than it was against Oregon State.

Colorado_mediumAttempt to control Will Sutton
Sutton has had a slower season so far this year because of all the attention offenses have been affording him but it is allowing the rest of the pass rush to have more room to work and disrupt. At some point this year, Sutton will break out and odds are decent that it could come against Colorado. The offensive line is going to have to up it's game in many respects today, but Sutton has to be priority #1.

Colorado_mediumPound Powell, attack with Adkins
If there's one glaring weakness on this Sun Devil team it's the rush defense. Last week against Oregon, a rejuvenated Christian Powell meant only six carries and a hard fought 18 yards for Michael Adkins. If the Buffaloes can get both Powell and Adkins going it could mean very good things for Colorado's chances of winning.
