Referee calls frustrated Colorado down the stretch, and it resulted in a technical foul for Coach Linda Lappe. That technical foul swung the game towards Washington State's favor, and the Cougars were able to take down Colorado.
The Buffaloes had control for much of the game and went into half time with a 10 point lead. CU shot 14-25 from the field in the opening half, and it looked like Colorado would be able to hold off the Cougars until late in the second half when Washington State made their run.
Jamee Swan had a career night and was powering the Buffs through multiple slumps on the offensive side of the ball. Swan finished with 28 points and seven rebounds. Lexy Kresl also tacked on 15 points for CU.
Colorado was also turnover prone as they gave away the ball 27 times. The Buffs ended the night shooting 50% from the field, but saw too many possessions wasted.
Washington State capitalized on those Buffalo mistakes, and despite only converting 25.7% of their field goals; the Cougars topped Colorado.
