Kresl leads Buffs in victory with 18 points

Byron Hetzler-USA TODAY Sports

Four days after needing overtime to defeat Utah at home, Colorado took it to Utah on the road and demolished the Utes 73-54.

Colorado looked much sharper than in their first match-up with the Utes as they shot the ball 44.8% from the field and only had nine turnovers. Utah was down 27-24 at half, but Colorado dominated the second half.

Lexy Kresl played an integral role in the victory as she set the offensive pace for the Buffaloes at the point guard position. Kresl scored 18 points and finished with five rebounds and four assists.

Haley Smith and Jamee Swan also scored in double figures for the Buffaloes with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

The game marked the second outing in a row in which CU's bench made significant contributions with 26 bench points.  Lauren Huggins, Alina Hartmann and Brecca Thomas all pitched in important minutes off of the bench.

Colorado is now 2-4 in Pac-12 play and 9-8 overall on the season.  They will take that record on the road to Washington next week when they take on Washington and Washington State.
