Buffaloes Fall To Iowa, 78-63

No. 22 Iowa holds off Colorado

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Colorado couldn't keep up with No. 22 Iowa in their road game and lost 78-63. The match-up marked their first game against a ranked opponent this season, and it proved to be an early-season test for CU.

Senior Jasmine Sborov led the Buffs with a career-high 17 points, and Jen Reese added 14.

Halfway through the second period Iowa extended their lead to double digits.   With five minutes left, a flagrant foul was called against starting point guard Lexy Kresl and counted as her fifth foul.

Despite the setback CU eventually cut the lead to nine points before the Hawkeyes went on a 6-0 run to see off the game.

Four Iowa players scored in double digits with Melissa Dixon leading the team with 23 points.
