Massive Texas lineman commits to Buffs

Why recruit anywhere else if you can recruit Texas?

NCAA Football: Oregon State at Colorado Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

With Texas on the rise, Texas A&M recruiting at a disgusting level, and yet another P5 school being added to the state (Houston), and every other state looking hard at the Lone Star State, you’d think that there would be little room for the Colorado Buffaloes. YOU’D BE WRONG. The Buffs are as active as ever down there, with another huge commitment coming through

Perez plays at Southlake Carroll High School in Southlake, Texas, which is a massive football hotbed near Dallas. Perez is currently a rotational piece for Southlake Carroll, which has helped keep his recruiting profile relatively low-key. He chose the Buffs over offers from SDSU and Tulane.

Perez is absolutely massive. At 6’8 and over 330 pounds, he PLAYS huge as well. He is immediately noticeable on screen as the biggest guy around, and he is moving people into the dirt. Southlake Carroll is a place where high school linemen can get great schooling, so I would expect Perez to continue to grow into his role.

Welcome, Drew!
