The Colorado Buffaloes gained a solid in-state commitment on Independence Day.
Heritage HS (Littleton, Colo.) tight end Erik Olsen decided to pass up other several prominent offers to be part of Karl Dorrell’s team. The top recruit adds an impressive resume to CU’s 2021 football class as Dorrell’s biggest win thus far. Olsen racked up 53 receptions for 836 yards and 11 touchdowns as a two-year starter for the Eagles.
At 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds, the three-star prospect fits perfectly in Dorrell’s offense as an extra blocker and weapon. Tight end coach Taylor Embree developed a great relationship with Olsen through his recruitment. He'll be relied on for his athleticism extensively as a future go-to option for the Buffs next quarterback.
Among the 19 schools on Olsen’s offer list was Pac-12 elites Stanford and Washington, along with former national powerhouses Nebraska, Notre Dame and UCLA.
