Speedy Texas linebacker commits to Colorado Football

Let’s give a shout out to Brian Michalowski

NCAA Football: Southern California at Colorado Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Brian Michalowski, take a bow. The newest and greenest member of Mel Tucker’s staff coaches outside linebackers and apparently recruits his ass off. He has had quite the June. After securing a commitment from Alvin Williams, who wasn’t even visiting officially, he has gone down to Texas and plucked Devin Grant.

Grant is an OLB prospect more in the mold of Davion Taylor than Jimmie Gilbert. He stands at 6’2 and 230 pounds, so he has a pretty compact frame for an edge-rusher. He goes to Antonian College Prep in San Antonio, which is a well-recruited area. Devin racked up plenty of college interest after his junior year, with Power 5 offers from schools like Kansas, Duke, Boston College, and Utah.

Devin Grant has a hell of a motor. Almost all of his highlights show a smart football player that makes plays happen. He shows awareness towards the ball, a quick change of direction, and a relentless (Mel Tucker’s buzzword) pursuit of the ball-carrier. That type of player can help any team.

Welcome, Devin!
