Can we all agree that Jerry Rice is probably the best football player of all time? Or, if not, the best wide receiver of all time? No one has his production, his peak production, his longevity, and his ability to win with so many different QBs and systems. Jerry had it all. Now, that is the last time I’ll bring up Jerry Rice in this article, because Brenden Rice does not need to stand up on his father’s shoulders to stand out. He is a great player in his own right.
Rice comes to the Colorado Buffaloes by way of Chandler, Arizona, a suburb of Phoenix. Chandler High School is a complete football powerhouse that has high level coaching and players, which shows. Brenden is a polished receiver that stands at 6’2 and around 200 pounds. As we discussed when he committed, Rice was a national recruit that was talking to Oregon and Michigan right up until the end. He is a big time player.
I repeat, he is a big time player. His junior year tape shows a smooth athlete who knows where he’s going on the field. Brenden is a big body receiver who makes himself an easy target for the quarterback. After the catch, he gets upfield in a hurry and does all the right angle calculations to give himself as many yards as possible. Rice will play soon for the the Buffs.
