The Colorado Buffaloes have plenty of opportunity in the defensive backfield for 2020. There are some graduating seniors, but past that, it’s already a thin depth chart due to attrition. If someone wants to play, that ability is there next year. Luckily, Jaylen Striker has the talent and the experience to help in 2020.
Striker is a 6’2 CB that is a little less than 200 pounds. He currently plays at Independence Community College in Kansas (Last Chance U!), but he has preserved three years of eligibility for the Buffs. He was one of the top 20 DBs in the JuCo ranks this year, and he had offers from a few other P5 schools that CU held off.
His junior college tape shows a lot of athleticism. Striker has the length to stick to the bigger receivers and the speed to keep up with the faster wideouts. Jaylen has those long arms that we’ve seen so often with CU DBs in the past, and he is going to be hard to beat on the line of scrimmage.
