THERE ARE NO COVERED ROCKS in Mel Tucker’s camp. Jimmy Brumbaugh and Tucker have looked everywhere for large men, and especially large men that can move.
The Colorado Buffaloes have three players returning on the defensive line that have played snaps, and six scholarship players overall. The Buffs signed four defensive linemen in the early signing period, and they are on the hunt for plenty more. They found another one on Sunday in Jayden Simon.
Simon is from Tacoma, Washington, squarely in the Pac-12 footprint. Simon had a late bump in the recruiting cycle. Colorado was his first and only FBS offer, and he committed shortly after his visit. Simon stands at a humongous 6’4, 290 pounds with room for plenty more.
Given how stout he stands, I was surprised by how well he moves. He’s versatile and can play all three spots in the 3-4 defense. Simon fills his gaps in the middle and actually gets upfield in a hurry.
Had an amazing weekend with the @RunRalphieRun coaching staff, extremely excited to announce I have committed to Colorado University!!! #GoBuffs pic.twitter.com/BBbQOvIpa4
