Colorado flips talented in-state athlete

The Buffaloes are keeping a talented player home.

Cherry Creek has been good to the Buffs. As one of the biggest public high schools in the state, it has a huge talent pool, and its consistent quality has funneled plenty of players to the the Buffs. It has been no exception recently, with CC providing about half of the Colorado kids that the Buffs have added in the past few years. The most recent Bruin to commit to the Black and Gold?

Alec Pell. It did not take long for Pell to pledge to the Colorado Buffaloes. He was offered by CU last week, and made his commitment early. The 6’4, 230 pound athlete has been committed to Boise State since April, and he was one of their better recruits this cycle. Pell’s offer list is a “who’s who” of regional programs, with Iowa State, California, CSU, Air Force, and North Texas joining the fray.

Pell is a classic football player. Whether he’s playing offense or defense, he just looks like a natural. He’s a smooth, physical athlete that plays with awareness and vision. He’s fast when he gets going and changes directions with ease. He is already put together physically, and he could easily be a special teams stud as a freshman.
