JuCo LB commits to the Colorado Buffaloes

The athletic MLB will provide an immediate impact next year.

NCAA Football: Southern California at Colorado Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

The Colorado Buffaloes got a wonderful surprise Saturday evening surprise with a big time commitment. Jashua Allen, one of the best junior college prospects in the country and the 2nd best ILB prospect nationally (according to 247 Sports), pledged to the Buffs after recently including them in his top 5. Allen chose CU over Utah, Illinois, Iowa State, and Washington State.

Allen, recruited by Ross Els (who has quietly put together a great list of prospects he has recruited) and Darrin Chiaverini, is a 6’2, 225 pound athlete. His prototypical size is augmented by aggressive downhill running and a penchant for pain. Allen’s tape shows that he flows to the line of scrimmage naturally and hunts the ball down. Jashua does a good job of “sorting through the trash” and avoiding getting caught up by blocks. A natural playmaker in space, Allen will walk in right away looking to replace Drew Lewis.

Welcome, Jashua!
