The Colorado Buffaloes added depth to their offensive front by signing JUCO transfer Kary Kutsch, a versatile 6’4”, 300-pound lineman from Redding, Calif, by way of Butte College.
Kutsch is the latest multi-sport athlete to join the Buffs after competing in basketball and track and field. A regional first-team All-California player as a true freshman, Kutsch held down every position on the offensive line for the Roadrunners, who averaged 360 yards and 30 points per game in conference play.
“We are excited about Kary, he is a big, athletic offensive lineman,” coach Mike MacIntyre said. “He can play offensive tackle, he can play guard, he can play center, but we’re looking for him to come in and compete at our tackle spot.”
Kutsch is the first known player to sign from Redding, Calif, and the second player from Butte College to sign with CU (Wesley Christensen, 2013). He’s expected to enroll in classes this summer with three years of eligibility. Kutsch becomes the fourth offensive lineman to commit to the Buffs 2018 recruiting class, joining Frank Fillip, Joshua Jynes, and Kanan Ray.
