You always need beef up front. Football is a game of big people hitting other big people over and over again. The Colorado Buffaloes play football, so naturally, the need big people to hit other big people. And the meaner and faster your big guy is, the better. Na’im Rodman is a big, mean, athletic player.
Rodman is all of 290 pounds, with room for more, and he is over 6 foot. He played at St. John Bosco, one of the best schools in the country, and through no fault of his own, he didn’t start until his senior year. This kept him somewhat under the radar, thought the Buffs still had to beat out a slew of P5 programs for his signature.
Rodman stayed solid through the coaching change, and for that, Buff nation thanks him. He has plenty to offer. He is a WIDE body that’s quick as a cat in the hole. Pitting a center 1-on-1 with Rodman seemed to be a losing effort early on. Na’im is smart, and fills his gaps and plays his assignments well. There is an opportunity for early playing time in the middle, so you may see Rodman again soon.
