The Mel Tucker era is in its infancy, but he has already done so much to garner the fans’ goodwill. He visited the Broncos game yesterday, he kept Coach Chiv on staff, HE BROUGHT PIZZA TO A BASKETBALL GAME. In his latest move, he got a big lineman to commit to the Buffs after a week on the job, and stole a recruit from an upcoming opponent in the process.
Austin Williams, from Tift County High School (the same high school as new DC Tyson Summers), has flipped from Colorado State to the Colorado Buffaloes. He committed to the Rams ten short days ago, but the new staff at CU offered him early and got him on an official visit this past weekend. It seems that the staff won him over, as he flipped immediately.
Williams plays on both sides of the line, though it’s likely he ends up on the OL in college. He is a stout 6’4, 290 pounds with room for plenty more. His film shows a really thick base, with some nice lateral movement. He loves to move forward and flatten people. He played tackle in high school, but I would guess that he moves inside in college.
