William Sherman signs with the Buffs!

The bruising guard makes it official

NCAA Football: Nicholls State at Colorado Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

This commitment reserves a special place in Ralphie Report’s rankings. Our very own Jon Woods, who I am contractually obligated to praise publicly once a week, hails from Allen High School, in the heart of Texas. Therefore, any player from Allen High School is immediately a catch, and will probably one day run a CU site. Will Sherman is no exception. From now on, he will be known as “The General”, because there are too few historical nicknames in college football.

Sherman is built like a tank at 6’3 and a little less than 300 pounds. Man, there are a lot of puns with a name like his, part of the reason he’s a new RR favorite. Like mentioned previously, he played at Allen High School in or around Dallas at the highest level of competition. It’s harder to be more ready for college than playing at that level and starting.

“Tecumseh” plays at tackle for Allen, but he will slide inside to guard in college. As you can see in the video, he is very mobile for his size and excels at pulling, which is a plus in CU’s trap offense. Sherman can up the field in a hurry and kick out the linebacker, and his strength allows him to hold the point of attack. Put him in the weight room and give him some time, and Sherman will blow up some Pac-12 defenses.

Welcome, Will!
