Early Signing Period 2018: Davion Taylor is Officially a Colorado Buffalo!

The speedy LB makes it official

NCAA Football: Southern California at Colorado Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

In the Pac-12, you need speed at every position. In a perfect world, this comes with size, not at the expense of size. OLB Davion Taylor is that perfect world.

Taylor plays for Coahoma Community College in Mississippi. Some people may remember this as the historically awful JuCo profiled in Last Chance U. Well, it appears their coach is turning the worm around if he’s getting players like Taylor. He is fast as hell for his size, but he was a little undersized out of high school, so he packed on pounds and waited for the offers. And what do you know, it worked out. Davion is 6’2 and 220 with speed to burn a ticket to Boulder. He has three years to play two.

Taylor flashes the speed in his tape. His closing speed is, dare I say, Addison Gillam-esque. He moves to the ball at a different pace than everyone else on the team. And this is in the best JuCo league in the country. Taylor will acclimate just fine to the Pac-12. With his athletic abilities, he could factor in all along the linebacking corps, but his speed makes him a natural candidate for Buffbacker.

Welcome, Davion!
