Phillip Lindsay is one of the best running backs at CU. But for all of his strengths at CU, he did not have breakaway speed. Deion Smith has that in spades.
.@DarianLH3 on Smith: “Deion had big-time schools call him in the last hour, but he was solid with us and wanted to be a Buff all the way. He is special with the ball in his hand and a complete running back and that is why schools didn’t back off on him.” https://t.co/MWLApnJ1B8

Smith is ANOTHER Texas stud, playing at Second Baptist High School in Houston. He was a little nicked up his senior year but should be fully healthy heading into his freshman season in Boulder. Deion has the talent to play right away if he wants.
His tape shows some next-level athleticism and speed. He is just running away from everybody. He runs like a gazelle out there, with long, fluid strides and puts distance down quick. Smith’s legs are so fluid, and his jukes just come so natural. Smth is a pure runner, like he’s just meant to do it.
Welcome, Deion!
