The Buffs have a wide-open depth chart at safety after the presumed starters, and with the addition of Aaron Maddox, the starters may not be so presumed anymore.
.@Backendcoach12 on Maddox: “He is a dynamic playmaker that has a lot of passion for the game of football. I’ve had the privilege to know him for 3 years and he has the ability to be an impact player for us with his coverage ability & ball skills.” https://t.co/CyREMGFiv4

Aaron Maddox is an example of the junior college system working perfectly. Out of high school in North Augusta, South Carolina, he did not get the offers he felt he deserved. So, he went to junior college to play football. After landing at Pima Community College, he played extremely well. And then he exploded. He was a national recruit before deciding to come to Boulder, but don’t take my word for it. Just watch.
His film is very fun. It’s easy to see the NFL bloodlines (from his father, Richard). He makes plays on the ball and closes hard when he has to. He looks like a natural in the center field area. Maddox also showcases pure speed as a returner. All in all, he is a different breed of safety than Afolabi Laguda or Ryan Moeller at 6’1 and 190. He has speed, coverage ability, and closing ability.
Welcome, Aaron!
