It’s very easy to find Tava Finau on the field. He’s the giant dude with the giant hair who runs faster than the wide receivers. And he’s now a Buff.
.@SlimDaddy77 on Finau: “He is very athletic and is going to be a big DE for us. He will be an excellent pass rusher.” https://t.co/fOkN1yLA4X

Finau plays for Luther Burbank High School in Sacramento, which has turned into a recruiting hotbed for CU. There aren’t many teams that can afford to stick someone as big as Finau on the edge, but thankfully, LBHS had the bodies and allowed him to shine.
Finau is a prototypical 3-4 DE at 6’5 and 250. He occupies blocks, sheds at will, and pursues the ball. The tape can be funny sometimes, because while he could use his brute strength to get to the ball, he often just beats the OL off the ball and makes the tackle untouched. He showcases a relentless pursuit to the ball and a surprising amount of speed for someone so big. Put him in the gym, get a little thicker, and then let him and his hair run wild.
Welcome, Tava!
