Right before signing day, the Buffs are beginning to regain momentum. Fresh off a new defensive coordinator hire, CU gained an important recruit for the next class. The defensive backfield is losing a lot of experience and talent next year, and Kevin George may help fill it. The freshman from Georgia Military College is right up Coach MacIntyre’s alley.
“I heard it was a great school and I also heard a lot about coach Mac,” George said about coming to CU. “The town is great, campus is very beautiful and I feel I will fit perfectly in Coach Mac’s system.”
As for new defensive coordinator D.J. Eliot, George has already talked to him about next season saying, “He’s a real nice guy who seems like a great coach and he’s really excited about me coming to Boulder.”
George is full of physical gifts. Coach MacIntyre loves to develop corners into something special, and George already has special in him. He’s tall, lanky, and has great ball skills. His athleticism allows him to cover almost all receivers, and as his technique grows, so will his consistency and ability. Remind you of anybody? Yes, he’s almost exactly like Ahkello Witherspoon, but maybe more gifted. Sounds like a good deal to me.
Welcome, Kevin!
