Signing day is fun after all! The Buffs just got a huge boost to the 2016 offense. Coffeyville Community College receiver Juwann Winfree, formerly of Maryland, committed to the Buffs on a day usually reserved for high school players. Winfree is a big boy at 6'2 and 200 pounds, and figures to immediately be in play for the WR1 spot.
His highlights show size, speed, agility, and upfield cuts, something that has been missing for the Buffs. Juwann frequently wins against press coverage on the outside and can out-muscle the corners for contested balls. He also is frequently used in the middle of the field, and has the physicality to make it happen. He runs the out route extremely well and finds holes in the zone coverage.
Winfree recently decommitted from Pitt after his visit to Boulder, so while not a complete surprise to those that follow recruiting. Winfree's commitment is a welcome addition. The only site rating him is Rivals, which gives him a four star, making him the top commitment this class. Davis Webb definitely helped in the recruitment of Winfree, and the two freshest faces on the offense join the Buffs at the same time. If they have an instant connection. The "W's" (I'm workshopping it) could really help CU turn things around next year. Please welcome Juwann to the Buffs!
