National Signing Day 2016: Akil Jones is a Colorado Buffalo!

Akil Jones, an inside linebacker recruit out of California, has officially joined the Buffs. Jones, from the same school as Ryan Severson and Jay MacIntyre, is a relentless pursuer of the football and a natural pass-rusher. While a bit undersized, at middle linebacker (sam, to be exact), he's more than big enough to make plays, especially with his speed and leverage. Jones has more than enough athleticism to succeed in the PAC-12, and may redshirt this year, though with the Buffs' depth chart at ILB, he could find his way on the field soon.
