Well, today will certainly test heart medication and emotional stability of Buff fans. After learning that Jim Leavitt, the defensive coordinator, has left for the same job at Oregon, CU fans got a nice nightcap with Javier Edwards' LOI. Faxed in late, Javier Edwards is arguably one of the most important commits on CU's list due to his position and age. A JuCo transfer from Blinn College with 3 to play 2, Edwards immediately steps in to Josh Tupou's position and becomes the biggest nose tackle in the Pac-12. Look at that picture! Javier is a massive man and a massive get.
He's not hard to find in his tape. The gigantic, quick missile to the quarterback. He has fast feet for a man his size, and his length and punch allow him to control the line of scrimmage on most snaps.Imagine him in a Power 5 strength program. Edwards even plays at end at times in that tape due to his penetration ability. It's hard to overstate how much this steadies our defense for next year. It's very hard to find nose tackles that can play in the conference of champions. Edwards is one of the few. Welcome, Javier!
Buffs please welcome @javier_edwardss to the Buffs family. He's a 6-3, 330-lb. NT from Houston via Blinn College. #GoBuffs #theRISEisREAL pic.twitter.com/LPninqasjY
