First surprise of the day, Jay MacIntyre commits to Colorado

Coach MacIntyre's son will play safety for the Buffaloes.

Doug Pensinger

Buff Stampede writer William Whelan was on hand to witness Jay MacIntyre give his commitment to the Colorado Buffaloes. Jay is, of course, the son of Head Coach Mike MacIntyre and the situation certainly evokes shades of the Dan and Cody Hawkins situation but Jay will play safety for the Buffaloes and it isn't really a fair comparison. Jay chose the Buffs over D-1 basketball offers. He played quarterback and safety for Monarch.

Welcome aboard, Jay!
