Buffaloes Receive Verbal From Tennessee Linebacker

Jay Hockaday becomes the 20th member of the 2015 class.

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

The Colorado Buffaloes had a rough day on the recruiting front yesterday with the commitments of Tony Brown and Tevis Bartlett going to Texas Tech and Washington, respectively. Last night the Buffs got some news to ease the sting of the lost recruits a bit with the verbal of Tennessee linebacker Jay Hockaday.

Hockday finished his senior season with 95 tackles and four sacks in addition to rushing for 887 yards and 19 touchdowns while playing offense for a 15-0 Christ Presbyterian Academy team (3A).

Hockaday is the twentieth member of the 2015 class and the first from Tennessee.

Welcome aboard, Jay!
