#CUin14, Colorado lands second verbal of the day

California tight end Hayden Jones has made the decision to come to Boulder.

Doug Pensinger

First reported by Adam Musterteiger, the Colorado Buffaloes have landed their second verbal commitment of the day with the pledge of Sacramento tight end Hayden Jones. Jones was derailed late in his junior season with a nasty shoulder injury but still holds offers from Air Force, Colorado State and Wyoming among others. He was also receiving interest from Washington and the academic trifecta of Princeton, Yale and Harvard.

In addition to tight end Jones also starts at punter and kicker, and plays outside linebacker for Christian Brothers. He has the size to eventually develop into an offensive lineman but will likely start at tight end.

Jones becomes the eighteenth commitment in the Buffaloes 2014 class.

Welcome aboard, Hayden!
