Colorado basketball point guard McKinley Wright highlight reel

A worthwhile introduction to college basketball for Wright.

NCAA Basketball: Colorado at Arizona Casey Sapio-USA TODAY Sports

The Colorado Buffaloes play Wednesday against Arizona State in the first round of the Pac-12 tournament. Each game the Buffs play now increases the chances to join a worthwhile postseason tournament. But that’s exactly what it is - the postseason.

So we here at Ralphie Report figured that now would be the best time to revisit the season. Well, one season in particular. The ridiculously exciting, fun, and tantalizing debut of McKinley Wright.

He burst on the scene and did not look back. He took over the point guard spot, the hardest position for a freshman to take over. He immediately earned the respect of his coaches and his teammates, and his opponents learned to respect him too. McKinley earned a spot on the all-conference freshmen team, an honorable mention for the all-defense team, and another honorable mention team regardless of class. Simply put, he was everything the team needed. So we pulled the best stuff from his season, mainly the conference season, and let it ride.
