The San Antonio Spurs have signed first round pick Derrick White.

White was drafted by the Spurs in the first round of the 2017 NBA Draft (29th overall) after being named All Pac-12 first team and All-Defensive Team for the Colorado Buffaloes last season.

According to the Spurs, “White became one of three players in the last 20 seasons to average at least 18.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.00 blocks for a season in Division I college basketball, along with Chicago’s Dwyane Wade and the first overall pick of the 2017 NBA Draft, Philadelphia’s Markelle Fultz.”

White’s the fourth Colorado player coached by Tad Boyle to be drafted in to the NBA . He joins Alec Burks (2011-Utah Jazz), Andre Roberson (2013- Minnesota Timberwolves traded to OKC Thunder) and Spencer Dinwiddie (2014- Detroit Pistons) since Boyle took over as coach in 2010.

White’s current assignment with San Antonio is in the 2017 Summer League, averaging 11 points per game, two assists and a rebounds in the first two exhibitions.
