The Colorado Buffaloes 2017-18 basketball schedule is wrapping up. The university announced that the Buffs will play the Iowa Hawkeyes on December 22 in a neutral site game in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

The Hawkeyes are similar to the Buffs in that they’re currently transitioning from a star-studded 2015-16 roster to a young and developing 2017-18 team. Gone are Jared Uthoff and Peter Jok, but promising sophomores Jordan Bohannon and Tyler Cook will lead what should be a solid Iowa squad.

The Sioux Falls arena Colorado and Iowa will play in, Sanford Pentagon, will be familiar to CU fans. In 2015, the Buffs opened their season there with a neutral site loss to the Iowa State Cyclones. In that game, the Cyclones had what seemed to be a sizable home court advantage presumably because of the proximity of Ames to Sioux Falls. It wouldn’t be the least bit surprising to see Iowa have a similar advantage, especially considering Iowa fans are known to travel better than their in-state rivals.

The rest of Colorado’s schedule includes home games against New Mexico, San Diego, Northern Colorado and Denver, and away games against Colorado State, Xavier and Portland.
