Yes, the national outlets are starting to notice too. Derrick White is the real deal.
The Pac-12 just named White the conference men’s basketball player of the week. The Conference of Champions had this to say about White, among other compliments:
"White averaged 22.0 points on 55 percent shooting (16-29 FG), including 50 percent beyond the arc (6-12), in two games last week, highlighted by a season-high 23 points in COLORADO's 68-66 upset of No. 13 Xavier on Wednesday. That victory over the Musketeers marked the Buffaloes' second over a ranked opponent this season."
White has been an absolute revelation for the Buffs this year. He leads Colorado in scoring, assists and steals, and isn’t far behind in rebounds and blocks. Most importantly, he has shown up in the big moments consistently. He has been a great leader on the court and a steady presence on the free throw line. It truly is a shame that CU only gets to see Derrick White play for only one year.
Congratulations Derrick!
