The Colorado Buffaloes overcame an early double-digit deficit on the road to take down the Auburn Tigers, 91-84. After a quick start the hot shooting Tigers put the Buffaloes down by as much as 44-29 before getting it back to four points at the half.
In the second half Colorado took off, outscoring Auburn 49-38 even after loosening up and allowing some late points during the final few minutes. A few days after suffering a tough, but encouraging loss to No. 7 Iowa State these Buffs have proven that they may be better than expected this season. Tad Boyle told Mark Johnson after the game on 760 AM, "I am not sure I have been as proud of a group since I have been at Colorado."
Josh Scott bounced back from his poor offensive showing against the Cyclones to finish 8-10 for 24 points with nine rebounds and three blocks. George King had by far his best performance as a Buffalo, going 9-14 from the field (with four three-pointers) for 27 points to go along with seven rebounds. King showed for the second game in a row that he made huge strides during his redshirt year and is now ready to be a major contributor.
Tyler Harris and Kareem Canty paced the Tigers, finishing with 23 and 24 points, respectively, but the it wasn't enough for Auburn to keep pace.
Up next for the Buffs are five straight home games, starting with Portland this Friday night, before heading to Fort Collins to take on CSU on December 6th. Who feels better about Buffaloes basketball than they did five days ago?
