Spencer Dinwiddie has a torn ACL, out for season

The Buffaloes will now have to go on without their star guard this season.

Well, the news we have all been fearing is now here and it's bad. Per Jeff Goodman of ESPN:

First and foremost this is awful news for a young man who has worked his tail off to get to where he is today and whether he comes back to the Buffs or heads to the pros I have great confidence that he will get past this and come out even better in the long run.

For the team this is a huge hit for a squad that had hopes of a high-seed and a deep run in the tournament but it is not the end of the 2013-14 season. A lot of freshman are going to have to grow up very quickly and new leadership will have to step up and lead this group forward. In addition, Tad Boyle and staff are in for what will be their toughest coaching job to date.
