Colorado basketball to play Nebraska in charity exhibition

The Buffs will visit Lincoln in October.

The Colorado Buffaloes will visit the Nebraska Cornhuskers for a basketball exhibition for charity, the CU sports information department announced on Monday.

The Buffs will visit Lincoln on October 31 to partake in a pre-season scrimmage. All proceeds will be donated to the Lincoln-based TeamMates mentoring program, the YWCA of Lincoln and the Nebraska Greats Foundation, according to the SID.

These two formers Big 12 rivals have not played each other in basketball since 2011. The football rivalry has resumed with much fan fare, but this game was never that heated on the hardwood, perhaps because both teams were always bad.

The Buffs have six new faces on the team, so it’s great team-building that Tad Boyle has them doing so many pre-season functions. They will spend the first week of July in Costa Rica, have this trip to Lincoln and will travel to the U.S. Virgin Islands for the Paradise Jam to open the season.
