The All-Pac-12 run-stopper had 107 tackles (23 for loss) and 13 sacks during his two years in Boulder.
The star defensive lineman had 15 sacks and 26 tackles for loss in 26 career games for the Buffs. He was named All-Pac-12 in 2018 and was a major contributor to a Buffs team that made the Alamo Bowl in 2020. His three sacks performance against Nebraska in 2019 was the highlight of his college career.
Johnson was a projected draft pick before his senior season, but medical issues caused him to be undrafted. He remains unsigned but is garnering looks from teams in need of defensive line depth. If healthy, he can offer contribution as a defensive end in a 3-4 defense, or a defensive tackle in a 4-3 scheme.
Johnson was one of two available Buffs in this weird 2021 draft. The other player, Will Sherman, was drafted by the New England Patriots in the fifth round.
