The Colorado Buffaloes released the game times and television schedule for their non-conference portion of the 2021 football schedule on Thursday.
They will have a Friday Night Lights special to open the season on Sept. 3 against Northern Colorado, which will be carried on the Pac-12 Network at 7 p.m. MT. The Bears were scheduled to meet the Buffs in 2020 in Ed McCaffrey’s coaching debut, but the welcoming party was shifted a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Colorado’s highest profile game of the 2021 season will be in week two at Mile High Stadium. The projected top ten Texas A&M Aggies will travel to Denver for a rare neutral site game at 1:30 p.m. MT on Saturday, Sept. 11 with the broadcast on FOX.
The former Big 12 teams last met twelve years ago and look to resume their series in non-conference play. Colorado was scheduled to make the trip to College Station in 2020, but the game was canceled with no makeup scheduled for the home-and-home event. The return trip was supposed to be in Boulder, but the Aggies athletic department pushed for the neutral site setting.
Colorado’s final non-conference game brings Minnesota to Boulder for a showdown at Folsom Field on Saturday, Sept. 18. An early 11 a.m. kickoff with the Pac-12 Network picking up coverage of the game. This will be the fourth meeting between the two schools since 1972, and none of the previous three games came in a bowl game match up. The Buffs are 3-0 in the all-time series, but they haven’t played since 1992.
Lastly, the Rumble in the Rockies will be nationally televised for a second straight year. A Black Friday affair will feature CU-Utah on FOX or FS1 at either 2:30 or 6:00 p.m. (both to be determined 12 days ahead of the game), according to CU athletics.
Single game tickets for the Texas A&M game are currently available only to season ticket holders; they will be available to the general public beginning June 15. Single game tickets to all other games (home and away) will be available starting July 7. The popular 3-Game Flex Plan will be available starting June 22. Visit CUBuffs.com for more information.
