Rumble in the Rockies: Game time and TV announced

Buffs and Utes renew their oldest rivalry with possible Pac-12 Championship implications on the line

Colorado (3-6) packs up to hit the road for what is likely the final time in 2021 for a Black Friday pow-wow with Utah— the 68th edition of the Rumble in the Rockies on November 26 in Salt Lake City. Kickoff will be at 2 p.m. MST, and once again nationally televised on FOX.

The Buffaloes and Utes have become “rivals” over the past few years with Utah typically needing a win to stay in Pac-12 contention. Utah has owned an 11-2 record over CU going back to 1961. And seven of those contests were decided between 10 points or less.

High hopes for the Utes (6-3) going into the season were quickly derailed with back-to-back non-conference losses over in-state rival BYU and Mountain West favorites San Diego State. After returning to Cam Rising the Utes have gone 5-1 in conference play and sit comfortably in the driver seat of the Pac-12 South race with three weeks remaining in the regular season.

Colorado has played 44 times on a Friday in school history, and six times to open the season. The Buffaloes are 18-26 overall on the last day of the work week, and 7-12 on the road. They’ve posted a 6-9 record under the ‘Friday Night Lights’ since joining the Pac-12 Conference.
